Lee's Racing Career so far...
Started racing a Ministox on the 26th December 2000 at the age of 11 and my first meeting was at Skegness Stadium.
I picked up my first trophy at Birmingham Wheels with a 2nd place on the 1st September 2001. Racing under the number of 406. I also achieved A Trackstar Merit Award for the 2001 season.
2002 I decided to move to Spedeworth and race under the number of 131, I started to achieve more trophies and awards in this year as I won the Felsham Garage Series Grade Award 2002 and I also travelled to special events which include going to Silverstone for a "SCF Power Drive" and Donington Park Mini Racing festival,
At the end of 2002 I lost interest in the sport due to a few painful accidents I decided to retire for a few years until I was older and more confident with the car.
2005 I decided to give it another go as I turned 15 and so I decided to race for Incarace a non-contact promotion of Ministox. Racing under the number of 266
This was where I gained a lot of my racing highs winning my first ever race which was in my first race back since 2002/2003 which I won at Birmingham Wheels. I also moved up the grading system from being a novice white top to a top red grader which is just below superstar grade in my first month of racing for the promotion. I also achieved Spedeworth's Top Visitor Trophy and the Midlands Championship being the only East Anglian on the grid, I qualified 2nd for the Championship leading the race from green flag to chequered flag. I also came 3rd in the Hednesford Championship. I had to pull out of the 2005 season early as I turned 16 in the October but I was leading the National Points but finished forth when the season had ended.
I moved on to the UK Oval Legends in 2006 and gained my first Legends win at Birmingham Wheels on the 6th October 2007. |
