About Holden Plant Hire
David Holden started work as a Farm worker in 1968 moving into the Construction Industry as a Digger Driver in 1971. 18 months later buying his own Digger and employing a driver whilst he returned to farm work on the family farm.
His first hire contract was for a local builder on a local farm. The workload increased month by month, leading to the purchasing of more machines and employing of further drivers. Ground works for a large developer were taken on requiring more machines and operators also a wider range of equipment.
Holden Plant Hire Ltd was formed in 1988 and expanded to include, Self drive hire which, today accounts for the majority of turnover.
Holden plant has it’s own delivery vehicles enabling plant to be delivered on time, it’s own work shop facilities, and service vans to enable servicing & repairs of it’s own and customer’s plant. Telephones are manned 24 hours per day 7 days per week, unlike many of it’s competitors enabling Holden to offer 24 hour service and callout, to Utility Companies and Sub Contractors.
Holden’s hire out to Customer’s through out East of England, no job is too small Holden’s Customer’s will always be No 1
Holden Plant Hire Ltd is a truly family business with son Daniel now working partly in the hire office, yard and also relief delivery driver, having gained his L.G.V. class 1 at the age of 19.
Younger brother Lee is currently an apprentice plant mechanic, and also taking his L.G.V. training.
David Rayner, has been with the company 20 years, originally as a plant engineer, moving onto Workshop Manager and now Depot Manager.
Rosetta Account Manager, has been with Holden’s since 1996, and also takes on other duties and responsibilities, (including agony aunt)
Linda joined in 2002 and assists Rosetta and has the unenviable task of getting customers to part with their money.
Brian loads the machines and gets them to & from sites, also liasing with sites to get them to where the customer wants them and on time.
Robert & Lee, service and repairs the machines, at the Depot and on sites.
